EigenStudio® update April 2012

Here is another update to the Eigenstudio® application and to the em32gain setting utility.
Both updates address a hardware issue only. There are no new features added.

We noticed that some recent (shipped in late 2011 and in 2012) em32 Eigenmike® arrays could be fairly noisy right after being powered on. After a few minutes the noise disappears and they are operate normally. We were able to track the problem down to a hardware issue that can be resolved with a minor software update that adjusts some internal hardware registers in the Eingenmike® array hardware.

The provided versions of the Eigenstudio® application and the em32setgain setting utility (for those who use their own recording/processing software) will update the internal registers during start up.

You will only need to upgrade to this version if you are experiencing noise immediately after powering up your Eigenmike® array described problem. Please contact us with any open questions.
